U Sudhakar Reddy
The young male tiger that was killed in NS tiger reserve was
identified as ‘M2B3’ whose picture was taken by camera trap in May 2013 at
Gajulavaripalli in Prakasham district and it migrated to Mannanur area in Mahabubnagar
district by travelling almost 50 km. The tiger was captured in the camera traps on May 15
and May 22 in 2013 thrice in Guttalacheney area, GV Palli Range and Markapur.
M2B3 is the technical name given to the tiger. Chief Wild Life Warden Mr. A V Joseph who
visited the scene of the offence in Mannanur in Mahabubnagar district said the tiger
migrated to Mannanur area and was establishing his territory in the new region.
“The tiger crossed river Krishna before rainy season. The tiger kill spot is in the
fringe of Mannanur. We appeal to locals not to poison carcass of cattle and we will give
compensation to cattle kills. The punishment will be serious if they resort to
poisoning,” said A V Joseph.
Based on the stripes the tiger has been identified. Investigations found that the accused
also took whiskers apart from claws. Whiskers are also valuable and sold at 500 dollars
on each in China market.
Dr. P Srinivas Reddy of Nehru Zoo and Dr Madhusudhan Reddy who conducted autopsy said

The cattle may have been killed ten days ago.

Tiger killing case slapped against whistle blower along with other suspects

TIGER DIES OF SUDDEN SHOCK

U Sudhakar Reddy

Tiger killing in Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve near
Mannanur in Nallamalais took a new turn on Friday. Mahabubnagar police booked a case
under criminal trespass, mischief by killing animal, hunting in a sanctuary against
Eenadu news contributor P Vedantam, a teacher, an electricity department employee and a
driver and others alleging that they entered into forest without permission of the
department and the whole case is revolving around them. Interestingly the case was booked
against the news contributor who bought the tiger killing to light. The case was based on
the complaint filed by Mannanur Forest Range Officer Mr B Lakshman. Forest department
also booked a preliminary offence report(POR) under several sections of wild life
protection act.The tiger that was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Nallamala forest region on Thursday. — DC
The post mortem examination report found that the tiger died of ‘injury and sudden
shock’. Foresters said this could happen due to poisoning and fall after it.
“Investigations so far point that the tiger has killed a cattle of a villager two
kilometers from Mannanur and angered by this the cattle rearer poisoned the Caracas of
cattle which was later eaten by the tiger. The big cat comes back to kill and eats it for
few days. It may have died after eating the poisoned carcass. Following the death same
cattle rearer or others who spotted it chopped of its leg and took away claws. The role
of the reporter so far appears to be trespassing and not informing the cops or foresters.
But we are investigating the allegations of forest department too,” said an investigator.
According to Amrabad Sub inspector of police Mr. G Ravinder the case with crime number
5/2015 has been booked under section 447 and 429 of IPC and section 51 of Wild Life
Protection act against P Vedantam, a private teacher R Lakshman, electricity department
employee Mr. B Niranjan, former driver of forest department Mr. Hathi Ram and others.
Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve Filed director Mr. Rahul Pandey said . “This is
not a professional poacher’s work as they didn’t take valuable skin, teeth and jaws.  It
is an act of locals. The contributor who went into the forest first has been refusing to
give details how he came to know about the incident. He didn’t bother to inform either
police or forest department,”. One of the guard on duty at Mannanur told forest sleuths
that he saw the news contributor and teacher entered into the forest on a bike around
5.30 pm on Wednesday. “The photograph was taken daylight it shows that the contributor
had entered into forest prior to that during day time also. We didn’t know about the
incident till we saw the picture in the newspaper,” says field director Rahul Pandey. “We
have found any noose or bullet injuries on the tiger.
Mr. P Vedantam denied any wrong and said an unidentified cattle rearer handed him over a
memory card with the pictures and he had sent to his office. “I didn’t enter the forest.
I run a medical shop at Mannanur and work part time for the newspaper. The cattle rearer
handed over it and vanished. He may have taken the photo on mobile phone,”
The POR booked by forest department is under section 9(prohibition of hunting), section
27(restriction of entry into sanctuary), 29 (destruction in the sanctuary without a
permit), section 31(prohibition of entry into sanctuary without weapon) and section
39(prohibiting making trophies from wild animals) under Wild Life Protection Act.
The viscera of the tiger and cattle was sent to APFSL for examination to find out whether
the tiger and cattle was poisoned. The samples were also sent to Veterinary Biological
Research Institute for examining any diseases, for DNA sampling to Lacones of CCMB. “It
will take 15 to 30 days for getting the reports from the agencies,” said Pandey.

Maoist Usendi claims no role in military operations

U Sudhakar Reddy
While National Investigation Agency is seeking access to Maoist Gudsa
Usendi  to unravel his role in massacres it has been investigating the surrendered Maoist
leader claimed that he has no role in military operations and he is only on ideological
work in the party.

Sources in State police questioning Gudsa Usendi said that he had clarified that he never
took part in military operations and mass killings. “He claimed that he is only involved
in press and writing work mostly and also writing the down the policies,” said a senior
police official.
State police has allowed NIA and other national agencies to talk to Usendi. However State
police clearly informed these agencies not to execute any warrants against him as the
surrender policy gives him ‘freedom’ from all cases.
“No warrants will be executed against him. Whenever a Maoist is surrendered it is the
policy to ensure that he is not arrested. This is to encourage surrenders. Instead reward
amount on their head will be given to him,” said a state police official.
However State police are  worried over the over enthusiasm of central agencies as it
would hamper the surrender police and more naxals will not come out to surrender if they
are arrested again on warrant.
NIA will be questioning Usendi regarding several massacres that took place in
Chattisgarh. Even State police units of several naxal infested states are interested to
question him.

Women Maoist is Usendi's living partner

Maoist Gudsa Usendi's surrender that shook the CPI Maoist party took
a new turn on Monday with cops and media receiving message from CPI Maoists that the
woman who surrendered along with him is not his wife.
Dreaded Maoist and Dandkaranya Special Zonal Committee secretary Ramanna in an audio
message claimed that Usendi has actually fled the party with another woman cadre.
“Usendi’s wife Raji is still with the party but he has fled with another woman cadre and
claiming her as his wife,” Ramanna alleged. Usendi has earlier claimed that he took the
permission of the party.
A senior police official said ,”The woman who surrendered is Jaini alias Marakam Santoshi
and Usendi told us that he has been living with her for the past one year. Though they
are not traditionally married they are living together. Usendi told us due to differences
he was separated from Raji his wife,”
“We have analysed the audio message of Ramanna. It says that people will come and go out
of party but the party continues to grow. They also raised the woman issue. CPI Maoist
party didn’t react on any surrender in recent times. They have reacted on Usendi’s
surrender this itself shows that it is a big shock to them and they are worried. His
surrender is definitely a loss to the party,”
Usendi is believed to be privy to vital information about the Maoist party in
Chhattisgarh and other parts of the country. Usendi, 53, is from Kadavendi village in
Devaruppala mandal in Warangal district. There was a price of Rs 20 lakh on his head.
DGP Prasada Rao announced that he surrendered due to rift between the leadership and also
due to ill health. Police said Jaini the woman Usendi claimed as his wife is suffering

serious illness and is undergoing treatment.

ISRO's space commerce booming, to get Rs 120 crore by launching SPOT 7

U Sudhakar Reddy
Indian Space Research Organization’s Space commerce has a good
progress with international customers lining up for launch of their satellites including
SPOT-7 French satellite. So far, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has launched 35
satellites for international customers and has established ISRO as a major player in the
satellite launching business. Commercial launch contracts have also been signed for
launching satellites from Canada, Germany and Indonesia.

According to ISRO discussions are on with many prospective customers for satellite
launches. ISRO’s commercial body Antrix Corporation Limited with a turnover of Rs 1200
crore per annum is dealing with space commerce that include Rs 800 core from transponder
leasing to TV channels and VSAT networks and Rs 200 crore from the sale of remote sensing
pictures and remaining amount from the satellite launches using PSLV. Sources in Antrix
Corporation said with the SPOT-7 Image satellite of France to be launched soon will fetch
an amount of around Rs 120 crore at one go.
Apart from the French SPOT Image an 800 kg satellite from Germany and three satellites
from UK each weighing 200 kg are in line up. ISRO has launched three big satellites and
all other 35 are small satellites of 100 kgs to 200kgs on commercial basis.
Satish Dawan Space Centre at Sriharikota director Mr. M Y S Prasad said ,”In the next
three to four months we are going launch SPOT image a French remote sensing satellite
from Sriharikota. Astrium a European company has struck a contract with Antrix
Corporation Limited for delivering the satellite into the orbit. Apart from this a few
more are in pipeline. Some of them are in discussion stage,”
ISRO in 2012 September launched French Satellite Spot-7 and Japanese satellite PROTIERS.
SPOT-6 with a lift mass of 712 kgs is the heaviest satellite ever launched by PSLV. On
February 25, 2013, PSLV’s 23rd flight of PSLV, successfully launched six foreign
satellites into orbit along with the Indo-French satellite SARAL.
“Most of the small satellites are sent based on additional capabilities when we launched
our own big satellites with PSLV. Communication satellite is more profitable. PSVL has a
capability to launch 1100 kgs satellite. For remote sensing satellites it can launch up
to 1600 kgs,” said Mr. Prasad.
Across the world Arianespace of France gets 50 per cent of space commerce contracts. It
has Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega launch vehicles. US launch vehicles Atlas and Delta and
Chinese Flag march 3, 4 and 5 are the top launch vehicles ahead of PSLV.

U Sudhakar Reddy

Red sanders smugglers can retain their wealth as the forest
department and police are not confiscating their properties they earned from crime. Smugglers just walk out of jail on bail and enjoy the properties as they are booked under non bailable sections and no chargesheets are filed in time. Most of the top smugglers own palatial buildings, luxurious cars and are growing rich say officials. Police and forest officials are failing to exercise the provisions of CrPC regarding confiscation of properties of Red Sanders smugglers.AP Biodiversity Chairman Dr R Hampaiah said ,” Red Sanders smugglers have grown stinking rich and amassed huge wealth. Even local politicians are involved in it. They earned crores of rupees. Their properties are not attached. They just walk out on bail. ISRO's naughty boy GSLV puts India into Cryo Club

U Sudhakar Reddy

Indian Space Research Organization’s naughty boy GSLV took off
majestically leaving the launch pad with clouds of smoke and obeyed the flight profile
and blasted off to create history. The GSLV D5 with super cool indigenously developed
Cryo engine delivered satellite GSAT-14 into geostationary transfer orbit with remarkable
precision.
After several failures in its attempt to develop cryogenic rocket technology, the ISRO on
Sunday finally launched the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle with an indigenous
cryogenic engine. With this Indian entered into high profile ‘Cryo club’.
Mr. K Sivan Mission Director of GSLV said ,”We used to call GSLV as naughty boy of ISRO.
The naughty boy has become obedient today. He has meticulously done the job of injecting
the satellite precisely. We could achieve all our targets as GSLV inject two tone plus
satellite into the orbit. For the past one decade we are waiting for this type of
performance from India side. The 1000 seconds of GSLV flight is fruit of  1000 days of
hard and dedicated work of ISRO teams,”
GSLV-D5 is the eighth flight of GSLV launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR in
Sriharikota. GSAT-14 is the 23rd geostationary communication satellite built by ISRO
which augments in-orbit capacity of extended C and Ku-band transponders.
GSLV-D3 luanched failed in April  15 2010 from SHAR. ISRO revisited the entire design of
the GSLV apart from the indigenous cryogenic engine. On August 19 2013 ISRO aborted
another attempt minutes before the launch after liquid fuel leaked from the second stage
of the launch vehicle. ISRO then replaced the second stage fully and made several other
changes.
Mr. S Ramakirshnan director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre said,”The first attempt of
GSLV D 3 we almost made it but the starting process could not proceed beyond ignition. It
was definitely a big challenge to understand what really went wrong. We had the benefit
of the knowledge of all ISRO teams and everyone put heads together. We not only analysed
the failure and working on what should be done to make sure next attempt a success Every
person rose to the occasion putting their heart and should and the result is what we saw
today,” He added ,”what happened few months back in August we went launched pad and for
some other reasons we have to called off the launch. But in very short time stupendous
efforts were made by the team,”
